Tulum High Season 2026–27: What’s On and What to Book Now

Friends walking to a jungle festival in Tulum at dusk

Tulum’s high season runs roughly from mid-December to March, and the busiest stretch is the two weeks around New Year. This winter is a big one: Zamna celebrates ten years, Day Zero returns in January, and Tehmplo has started announcing its nights. Here is what we know so far, and what we would book first.

The dates that matter most

  • New Year’s Eve (December 31): the busiest night of the year. Villas, dinner tables and party tickets for this night go first. See our New Year’s Eve guide.
  • Zamna, December 31, 2026 – January 10, 2027: a 10-day anniversary season with a different line-up each night. Single nights, a Multipass for three event days and packages are available. More on our Zamna page.
  • Tehmplo, early January: individual events announced one by one. Solomun is confirmed for January 7, 2027. Details on our Tehmplo page.
  • Day Zero, January 9, 2027: Damian Lazarus’s jungle festival returns with its 13th edition, “Begin Again”. 18+, official tickets only through Getin. See our Day Zero page.

Dates are as announced by the organisers in September 2026. Line-ups keep coming until December, and we update our festival pages as they do.

What to book first

1. Your villa. Group villas for the New Year and festival weeks are usually the first thing to go, often months ahead. If you are six or more, a villa is almost always the better choice: your own pool, space for dinners at home and one base for the whole group. We only offer villas we have visited ourselves.

2. The big nights. Decide which festival nights and which New Year’s Eve plan you want, then book tickets or tables as soon as the line-ups are out. Tables for headliner nights sell out first.

3. Dinner reservations. The popular restaurants take bookings weeks ahead in high season, especially for groups. We plan dinners so they fit around the nights out, not the other way around.

4. Transport. Drivers are in short supply around New Year. Book your airport transfer and drivers for festival nights early, so nobody is stuck looking for a taxi at sunrise.

Leave room for the slow days

The best high-season trips mix big nights with slow days: a boat day on calm water, a cenote in the morning before the crowds, a private chef at the villa, or a massage by the pool. December to March brings the calmest sea and the clearest water of the year, so it is the best time for all of it.

Plan it in one message

Tell us your dates, group size and which nights you are interested in. We send a first plan with villa options and prices, and nothing is booked until you say yes. Planning with us is free.
